What is BLE Beacon

Beacon is a broadcast protocol based on the Bluetooth low energy protocol. It works by using BLE technology to send its own unique ID to the device equipped with Bluetooth low energy (BLE) communication function. The APP will take some action based on the ID.

How BLE Beacon works

The BLE Beacon will broadcast a data packet to the surroundings at regular intervals. As an independent Bluetooth host (such as a mobile phone, etc.), when performing the scanning action, it will receive the data packets broadcast by the Beacon at intervals. At the same time, when the host receives the broadcast packet, it will indicate which Bluetooth slave MAC address the broadcast packet comes from (each Beacon has a unique MAC address) slave device and the current received and sent signal strength indicator RSSI value.
